Why do people say hospitality sucks so much to work in?
I've been working as a kitchen hand for nearly a month and it's been great
You just focus on the tasks that are your responsibility, customers are always very nice if they ever see you (like after spills) and staff are great and supportive
It's fun bantering with my coworkers and being a part of a team and I love washing dishes
Only thing that sucks is being sent home when there aren't enough customers to justify you working
What are your best hospitality stories? Was there ever a moment it suddenly became shit for you?

That's nice dear, come back in a year.
If by then it's still the same, you seriously lucked out and found a great place to work.

Report back once you've even had the opportunity for it to suck and for others to hold you to actual expectations

In my country 90% of restaurants don't have a dedicated dishwasher, the kitchen hand is expected to do it all

Yeah maybe it's a bit hasty but I don't see how things could change at this point

Each hell their own. I loved working retail and would rather do that than my current job.

I much prefer food manufacturing, currently work in a bakery and it's pretty good as far as jobs go. Hours are more consistent, no customer interaction, and none of my coworkers are teenagers or other kinds of annoying degenerates.
