Ok /ck/ what have you done to royally fuck up your food?

I'll start
>be me
>today
>meal prepping chorizo burritos
>soaked diced potatoes overnight in jars for use in whatever
>decide also to make potatoes O'Brien on the side
>pull up recipe on phone for reference
mis en place
>Oaxaca cheese, chorizo tubes, onion, bell peppers, jalapeno, potatoes, tortillas, salsa verde
>see eggs whipped with half & half
>nah, it's like 8-10 eggs, I don't need to do this right now
>I'll crack them fresh so they're not sitting in a bowl for a half hour
>chop onion, jalapeno, 2x bell pep red & green
>shred cheese
>heat pan
>squeeze chorizo turds out of casing
>sizzle
>nice
>drain & strain grease
>cook potatoes and mexican mirepoix in chorizo grease
>fuck yeah that aroma
>tortillas heating in separate pan
>one by one
>last few tortillas
>potatoes are done
>start running low on chorizo
>throw some O'Brien into the burritos
>slick
>clean up a bit
>sit down to have traditional post-prep meal
>picrel
>bite into burrito
>salty as all hell
>what the?
>realization
>I forgot the eggs
>fuck
>wasted morning and $10 worth of ingredients
>try to finish it despite tasting of the sea
>alternate bites of potato in futile attempt offset
>couldn't finish it

I learned today that's why chorizo always has eggs in it. The milk and eggs cut through the salt.
Don't skip any prep steps anons

>christmas eve mid 20s
>nearly out of food, have enough for a breakfast scramble
>grabbing garlic powder for scrambled eggs
>shake it down
>it wasnt garlic powder
>suddenly realize I have put cinnamon in my eggs
>cook it anyways as its the only food I have
it was okay, I would never make it again, but not inedible

I was reheating a sauce with sugar in it and the sugar burned before the sauce was heated so I killed myself.

>new to baking
>made a few loafs, wanted to try something else
>bauernbrot bread
>preparing takes days
>recipe recommends placing a container of water in the oven during baking so it steams and adds moisture
>put the water in a glass bowl
>set the bowl above the bread
>in minutes, while the dough was still soft and maleable, bowl shatters into fine pieces over the bread
>had to throw it all away because fine pieces of glass were layering the top and weren't coming out with just a rinse
