The weather's getting hot as fuck and I live in a tiny apartment without a hood over my stove and no real ventilation in my kitchen/living room. I have AC but electricity is expensive where I live. What are some dishes I can make that won't heat up my place too much? Picrel, it's cold silken tofu with scallions and chili crisp.
Just get an air fryer. They barely make any heat.
95% of people don't have a real hood over their stove
it sucks, but what can you do
Do you have real AC (4 pipe) if so, I am jealous!
>>21416054 (OP)That looks really nice. Do you have other tofu ideas?
Get a heat pump. Much more efficient than an A/C.
>>21416054 (OP)Pasta salad, all kinds of sandwiches, egg dishes.
Pre-cooking a bunch of noodles in the morning or at night when it's sill cool out, then re-hydrating with cold water and a ramen seasoning packet later.
I've done something like thinly sliced pork + cold noodles + a soy sauce ramen packet to get a full meal when it's hot as fuck.
>>21416054 (OP)I assume you have a gas range which wastes like 70% of the heat. Basically any countertop appliance produces little heat like air fryer, pressure cooker, rice maker.
>>21416054 (OP)Stupid retard, don't you know global warming isn't real? And if it is we aren't the one's causing it? And if we are then it isn't a big deal? And if it is then we'll science our way out of it?
>>21416054 (OP)Burrata on bread with pesto and cherry tomatoes
Charcuterie
Caprese salad
Antipasti
Dolmas
Chips and guac
Nachos if you don't mind using the microwave
Ice cream
Root beer float
These foods account for like 90% of my diet
korean noodles, the kind that "cook" just by placing in a bowl of water.
Macaroni salad is a summertime favorite
>>21416054 (OP)do you have a porch or patio
>>21416054 (OP)i tend to lose my appetite when its hot but i eat stuff i can scoop up with a piece of bread and chuck back in the fridge for later
>hummus>labna>guacamole >tuna, egg or chicken salad>cheese and pickled vegetables >canned fish>avjar >roasted tomatoes or eggplants>cucumber saladyou can also overnight instant noodles which isn't healthy or nutritious but it can be a nice cold meal if you cant be fucked to make something else
Chicken/Tuna salad depending on what you have, just don't eat the tuna every day unless you're speedrunning mercury poisoning
Cereal and PB&J can be good if unhealthy
Another Anon mentioned salads, though making a salad filling might involve cooking meat, maybe you could use tofu? Not sure how you even prep tofu though
Plain bread for breakfast with juice, been my breakfast for over a decade now, holds one over until lunch
Honestly it's hard to come up with meals that aren't terrible for you and filling that are cold, 90% of food is hot cooked
>>21418072>Cereal and PB&J can be good if unhealthy Neither of these are inherently unhealthy.
>>21416054 (OP)Dude just run your fucking AC
Stop penny pinching, you're not saving any decent amount of money by putting yourself in discomfort.
look up cowboy caviar. besides avocado and onions and cilantro you can make it with all canned items. you just dip chips into it and eat it. she makes for partys because shes lazy and everyone really loves it. i see corn in a lot of recipe but i dont think she puts that in hers.
>>21416466God I wish you were my father or roommate or friend or acquaintance or colleague who talks to me
>>21420894That's a tinge homosexual but I suppose I'm a bit confused and flattered.
Peanut butter noodles, Sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers cooked outside in a park or some other public space.
>>21420905I have no one else
Also don't worry, I'm not gay, poor or fat. No reason to be icked.

I like to make bean salads with either feta or cotija crumbled in
Sandwiches! My god I struggled to come up with a cold meal but it was painfully obvious
Just make sure you get good meat right from the butcher and good bread, none of the pre packed sliced stuff, that's for holding you over til lunch
>>21420950I guessed from the French architecture and foliage, having never been there. I might want to go some day, after I've been to Japan enough times.
>>21420955How the 'eck? Are you from france?
>>21420959No, I'm American, it's just that Vietnam is practically the only other place with French architecture besides New Orleans after places like Detroit and Baltimore were fucking destroyed.
>>21420968Pro tip: add carmel flavoring. Same syrup they (I) use to make yeast donuts and fritters smell and taste sublime. This makes bananas smell and taste even bananaier.
