Shit /ck/, I didn't even know that Australia is currently in the midst of their own "Trial of the Century", the case of Erin Patterson, AKA the Deathcap Wellington Killer, the biggest Aussie media circus since Josef Fritzl. Was this just a matter of typical Australian incompetence? Or was it outright murder, by a typically malicious Australian woman? Will police finally start cracking down on Asian grocers? Will chefs be required to have a Mushroom License?

The entire world is watching, as the future of Australian Cuisine is at stake, and I for one really enjoy the Outback Steakhouse.

seems pretty obviously a murder but due to the lack of her writing down "I wanted to kill them" I hope they prosecute it as a lesser charge like manslaughter or it may not stick
she used different plates for her food and the poisoned food, and she claims she got sick too, but there's no evidence of that

which part of australia is she from?
im american but i find australian culture interesting as its anglo but kinda different and more casual and a bit less puritan

Victroria. It's a barren, lawless place in the middle of the Outback, and the real-life inspiration for the "Mad Max" film series. The only local industry is manufacturing Victoria Bitter or "VB", a brand of petrol, mostly known for being sniffed by the white aboriginal tribesmen. The location is actually very significant to the case, because Victorians primarily eat huntsman spiders, barbecued whole, and have built up immunity to most forms of poison.

These are all lies.

its the VB cans that are key to the petrol sniffing, and i suppose if your threshold of function is low enough to pass at 'laying passed out in the blazing sun all day', a considerable amount of poisoning could be endured
australia always creeped me out, seems like a very dark place. even getting dismembered and eaten by paranoid bushmen in the congo feels closer to god that whatever happens in australia
