Place fucking sucked once it got popular. He wouldn't let me open for him or go behind the bar anymore.

Me. A day out drinking is better than a night out drinking and my friend redpilled me on this
>Much quieter and chill, no noise
>No tons of people in the way at the bar
>Usually cheaper
>Sometimes they'll even have happy hour on or something because the place is dead at that time
>Easily get home in a cab as you're coming home when everyone's coming in.

You're correct about Canberra but it's by accident. Any thread about liquor gets puritantical faggots like you in droves sayind dumbass shit like "ethanol den". You dont even have to drink, but this level of faggotry is very telling of your personal proclivities.

I'll take the first three as you blowing off steam, as addicts are want to do when confronted on their vices. The last one I'll wear whole-heartedly: I am very much consistent with my stance on recreational drug use.
>Faggots like you never really existed in the old days
Where did the 18th amendment come from?
>Any thread about liquor gets puritantical [sic.] faggots like you in droves sayind [sic.] dumbass shit like "ethanol den"
No, that was probably just me.
>if you cannot nurse a pint in a normal social situation, chances are you rarely have them and are never invited back
There are people who don't feel a need to abuse drugs in social situations. I know it's hard to imagine, with how normalized it is, but it's true.
>You dont [sic.] even have to drink
No, you require water to stay alive for longer than half a week. Assuming you're referring to ethanol, as most people unfortunately mean when they say "drink," then you're correct; short of ethylene glycol poisoning, you do not need to intake ethanol for any reason.

Bingo. You can chat with the bartender, change the TV if you'd like, and even get things you otherwise couldn't like samples of drinks when the batender is bored feeling generous.

Plus on top of all that, I usually see them deep cleaning stuff at the good bars. When the bartenders are sitting around looking at their phone, it means they're lax on finding shit to do and improve so they don't care about the cleanliness for the customers.

I've never understood going to a bar at 8pm to drink $10 drinks for a few hours where its too loud to hear the person next to you.

Neither of those are pertinent to this discussion, similar to how threads about drug dens have nothing to do with food or cooking, even if they serve food on the side to maintain the veneer of a legitimate business. What, are we going to have threads about crack houses or opium lounges next?
>th-th-those are nothing like bars!
You're right, one is legally permitted ad culturally normalized, and the other two aren't. That's where the differences begin, and also where they end.

Also you get served quicker because they're serving nobody else, and you never get into any drama or bullshit as nobody is drunk and belligerent and rowdy at that hour.
The regular bar I go to has discount prices on drinks from 4pm - 7pm on Monday - Friday to lure people in during those dead hours. So you save a lot of money.

It's why I miss university. For like a whole semester on a Monday my classes ended at like 2pm and I got to know some people from that class and we went to this specific cocktail bar that did 2 for 1 cocktails and just get hammered ever week.

A few co-workers and I stop in the local pub across the street from the office every day for lunch M-F and have a pint. They serve food, but they don't care if we bring in our own lunches from home. It's been such clockwork for the last 2 years that by 12:05 the bartender will already start filling our glasses so they're ready by the time we come in the door.

>and even get things you otherwise couldn't like samples of drinks when the batender is bored feeling generous.
if you walk into any pub in the UK and ask to taste test a brew, they will let you, free of charge, 100% of the time. drinking in muttmerica sounds painful, especially with $2 tips per drink, your pints are tiny, etc

I am not a big drinker, but I used to meet my buddy at a little dive bar at 11am in the middle of the week during summer and just sit, drink $1 frosted mugs of beer, enjoy the air conditioning, and chat up the redhead bartender with big fake tits. It was kino

Now the bar is long gone, torn down for high speed rail that no one is going to use.

Its funny that some lonely antibeer faggot is here angling for attention in near exactly the same manner as a sad lonely drunk at the pub acting like an arsehole for attention.

I'll have a beer if I'm alone in town waiting for somebody or just have a cigarette while reading a book or scrolling 4chan

Sometimes I'll meet someone open for small talk
