UHT milk tastes like eating a box of matches. Probably about as nutritious as well.

If you don't need a lot of milk uht keeps just longer. My dad drinks milk and he always buys fresh milk but i rarely use it.

As a Brit this post has reminded me to have a nice, cold glass of whole milk.

Yes. UHT tastes like slightly burnt sick.

UHT milk has a disctinct taste. Not better. not worse, it's its own thing.
It has a "cooked" taste. During cooking the lactose partly caramellizes, which leads to this milk tasting slightly sweeter than fresh milk.
Many people actually like this distinct cooked taste. Think UHT milk without the sweetness and without that characteristic aftertaste and you pretty much are there with fresh one. It has less taste in a sense, but is very refreshing. It#s also slightly thicker than the UHT one, so you can feel the fat going down your throat.
Both are good, go by taste.

It doesn't change anything. You go to the store, or the ranch, collect the milk for a few, go home and cram it up your ass.

It's not really caramelized or sweeter
The UHT treatment is both to too hot and too short for that.
It's also why steamed fresh milk, for coffee, tastes still different from UHT milk. With the steaming making it sweeter due to separating the lactose.

When cooked it no longer matters though.
