Too hot to cook potatoes rn. Don’t want to heat up the whole apartment.
>>21422923
Freezy potatoes recipe. Mush em up into a popsicle mould. Season to taste. Just one suggestion. They’re versatile.

I got these a lot from the food pantry when I was broke. It's just boiled potatoes. They can get a weird flavor and texture depending on the brand and how long theyve been canned.

Any recipes to share? Or is it best to just enjoy them straight out of the can?

How could anyone ever consider eating tepid canned potatoes right out of the canning fluid?
Are you fucking kidding me? I can't think of any recipes to use them in either but eating them straight seems fucking insane. Raw potatoes are about the cheapest food in existence.
The only possible reason would be emergency supplies for making stew or something. Even camping you'd just bring a real potato along.

My mom comes from a catering family business, and in the 70s and 80s they would use big #10 cans of those potatoes for their baked chicken & potatoes. They'd get kinda chewy and crispy exteriors and hold their shape, and it was convenience for the scale they cooked for.
To this day she gets nostalgic for those canned potatoes, she swears they taste different when baked, and will make them once or twice a year. I don't like them all that much, they're not horrible, but the brine from the can adds a kind of watery metallic taste that I can personally do without.

Dewd, for canned potatatoes its the best grade, especially sliced, there will be no difference between Canada No. 1 or Canada Choice.

core them out, mash the cored portion, stuff them with foreskins from your fermented foreskin clay urn, seal em back in with the mush, fill mason jar with em and brine, freeze overnight, smash mason jars, pick up frozen tatericles, hurl them from across the room onto boiling oil

season to taste

You're probably a big man, so get two or three cans, open them up, rinse them, and cram them up your ass.
