Mochi or rice cake, especially in that form, is dry as fuck.

When heated, it turns gelantinous, but it is more of a soft hot glue rather than soft chewy cake.

That baked dry fuck is going to break your teeth afte it is slightly cold. If you attempt to eat it hot, you will get your entire mouth burnt.

Ready made rice cake must be soaked in water, or pre boiled, before further cooking. Other wise you are eating literal hot glue and if you don't eat it hot, they immediately revert back to teeth breaking solid.

I am Korean, rice cake is in my blood, and no sane korean is going to cook rice cake that way.

Mochi is dry? What are saying? It's a delicious treat, it's soft and moist. Even when it's cold it's quite soft and good to eat (arguably better than hot). Also teeth breaking solid? What are you smoking? How can literal rice paste ever get to that point? Are you listening to yourself?
You can always count on koreans to shit on superior Japanese because of their inferiority complex

i've only ever had store-bought mochi, the kind that comes in pre-cut individually wrapped pieces you then pop in the oven. They were alright but like anon said you had to eat them quick or they'd harden up again. Either you've had a different, better quality mochi or you're talking about the soft dessert stuff.
