>>21423903The grocery services are expensive. It's not worth it getting small orders. Service and delivery fees hit you just as hard as if you're ordering junk food. So I'm unsure if he's actually ordering. Or how he's getting it for cheaper than junk.
I've ordered produce before, as a part of my whole grocery order. But I'm not too picky about produce, so I don't care if it's not top tier. And I usually get stuff that doesn't require ripening, or ripens at home.
Like I've never had to deal with unripened oranges. Or unripend grapes. They've always come ready. Bananas typically ripen after a few days of purchase.
I'm not big into berries. Maybe if I was a berry guy, I'd have worse experiences. But I got strawberries once, and they were fine. Just middling strawberries. I got limes, and thought they picked bad limes. But then I looked up "when do limes ripen", and learned that they don't. Grocers sell them unripened on purpose. You're supposed to heat them up to release the juices. So I started boiling limes, and squeezing them into cups, adding sugar and water and making lime soft drinks.
Anyway, I've never gotten a *rotten* fruit before while ordering groceries. I just think it's weird to make only a fruit order. No way I'm paying those fees for some damn fruit.
