I hate modern technology, can't even just purchase food without some privacy invasion phone app being shilled at you, the simple act of eating from a restaurant has to involve using your fucking phone, I'm so over it, it's everywhere, this isn't fun anymore, I am so tired

I installed the McDonald's app when I used to go there a lot, but then it logged me out and I couldn't remember how to get back in so I lost a free quarter pounder worth of points, and then my lifestyle changed so that I was no longer eating at McDonald's once a week so I never bothered trying to fix it

Nobody forces you to use the app, you can still order at the counter if you want. But now there's the added option of using the app and getting discounts. There is a clear incentive for consumers and a positive response from the market.
>>21430103
>my privacy
What private information do you think is being collected by the app? You don't have to share location at all times, only when in use. And if you're worried about mcdonald's knowing that you're at home (like always) then lol.

Kill yourself, digital boy. You're not intelligent enough to even understand the nature of the contention.
The fact that you have to provide your location at all should be a bridge too far for any rational person. But you live your life like an open book if you like. You think it's about 'nothing to hide' so you miss the point entirely. You'll be dead soon enough from the way you eat anyway. Until then, slow down your phone with all that shit and keep enjoying your $2 discount on fake food. You're exactly the consumer cunt the corporations rely on to keep lowering quality and charging more. You're actively participating in what's helping kill you faster.

Why? What are you scared of?
>You think it's about 'nothing to hide' so you miss the point entirely.
Unless you spend 24/7 of your life in an underground hermetically sealed bunker cut off from all communication networks, you don't have the credibility to argue about digital or locational privacy.
>You'll be dead soon enough from the way you eat anyway.
I don't eat McShart's, I just work in global marketing and have worked with fast food giants. I know how the world works while you're scared and hiding 24/7.

no delivery apps
likely 4-5 restaurant apps are used, just for the fact the bonus points are that valuable. Dominos, starbucks, chipotle, dunkin, jersey mikes.
I have others, like cheesecake factory, but forget to use them much more than just a quick menu lookup before putting in a takeout order by phone.

it gets your sandwich and drink ready when you get there, so it's ideal for your passenger/navigator person. It's the last stop before I leave civilzation towards my lake house, so it's usually my milk, coffee, eggs, bacon stop after an hour drive and final leg. I can make it though the next morning before a proper stock up. I think their sandwiches rival Publix subs.

You're not getting a discount with the app, those are just closer to what the original price was. The in store prices are the no-app tax.

I use yelp and tripadvisor, really often, since I am usually planning my next self-care trips into the future, so those, as well as open table for reviews and reservations.

If I go to place an order for someone online, and it switches to a 3rd party app like "slice", I close the site and pick up the phone instead. I physically hate giving a fee to another party that takes the cut from the restaurant. They need to stop doing that.

My local high end italian restaurant, which always has no tables 2-3 months into the future, has a side door pizza business that is strictly takeout only, and they do an app exclusively now. I have asked them for their inside direct phone number to avoid that damn stupid app. I'm careful with my credit card and identify info you see. They just think I'm cantankerous.

I pretend I'm too stupid to know how to use it and make them take my order like normal so they can keep their job and not be replaced by software that barely works properly. Luckily where I live it's not that widespread yet and most places don't require you to use it, they just have it as an option.
