Funnily in Italy people aren't too crazy about it compared to Mortadella or Prosciutto, I guess it stuck just because it sounds funny.

I've spent my life looking derisively at Mortadella in every deli case, but I finally tried Bourdain's famous Mortadella sandwich recipe recently and it was fuckin life-changing. super simple, just fried mortadell, provolone, mustard, mayo (optional), toasted roll, down the hatch.
can't eat it super often, it's like shoving a fistful of pork fat in your mouth, but when it hits it really fucking hits

Gabagool is actually the same thing as capicola. Gabagool is some weird slang pronunciation of it. Thats why you never see it anywhere.
