I wish bread wouldn't go out of date quicker and lasted longer. It's okay if you have loads of people living with you but I literally live alone therefore it will take me longer to eat all the bread which means a higher chance of the bread going out of date before it's all finished.

Also annoying if I just want to eat four slices of bread one day and then non for the rest of the week.

Keep it in your freezer and pull out a couple of slices like 30 minutes before you plan on using them

I bake a few breads over the weekend and freeze them. Then just take the slices I need from the freezer

Doesn't even take 5 minutes, bread is mostly air.

The key to bread that lasts a good while is baking the bread in the size that you eat it in. That means rolls. Sandwich bread goes stale quick. Don't do that. Make sub rolls, hamburger rolls, or whatever size you need for eating in 1 sitting. That will solve your stale bread problem. Plus by making sub, hoagie or hamburger rolls, you can wrap the sandwich for maximum flavor!

All it takes is some silicon molds, or just balling dough out by hand.

Switch to rolls or crackers if you're travelling or "on the go."

Otherwise, consider repurposing your stale bread to make bread pudding or some kind of slop.

Wonderbread started before "ice boxes" and freezers were a common home appliance. Eventually, they switched their target demographic to parents trying to feed their literal boomer children cheap sandwiches.

Bread already lasts unnaturally long. Bread doesn't stay soft. Bake for yourself and you'll appreciate life more.

Sugar allows the dough to ferment in a matter of minutes. A pure flour, salt, yeast, and water dough will take longer but won't give you beetus.

Diabetes? Yeah, there's nowhere near that amount of sugar in bread. It's coming from somewhere else.

Exactly, mass produced wonderbread or loaves of cheap sliced foam isn't bread.
