So how do you eat these things without getting soup all over you?

you lift it way over your head, lick the outside, and slowly lower it into your mouth, fondling it with your tongue the whole time

Most of the soup dumplings I've ever had could be eaten in one bite. If they need two (or they're too hot to trust putting into your mouth all at once), then I usually bite a hole in the top, suck some soup out, and eat them top-down.

it's a novelty item. Crafted dumplings that were formed around cold cubes of gelatin rich stock. You keep it on your spoon, anon, prick it open and slurp it up together with the noodle.

Emeril and Mario went on a quest to find the best of them in China on some episode that was quite enjoyable. Neither could speak the language but were so into it. Emeril Eats?

Bite a small hole in the bottom and slurp. Then eat the dumpling

I'm disappointed in /ck/. The actual answer, speaking as someone whose wife is Georgian, is to hold them by the top, turn them upside down, bite into them and slurp out the soup, then eat the rest of the dumpling (except the top, which you don't eat because it just tastes doughy).

I'm also not sure why /ck/ seems obsessed with khinkali, they're relatively mundane dumplings. Probably the least interesting part of Georgian cuisine.

Eat them like you are sucking on your bro's nutsack, give them a little nibble, suck the contents through the perforation, after draining the looser fluid you can began taking large mouthfuls until you have consumed the entire sack.

chinese food was grown in nuclear wastelands, it's just not an option if you care minimally about your internal organs
