Unibroue's beers were the first ones that I actually liked but nowadays I can't stand them.
Except for their limited run peach IPA, that thing's my goat, too bad it's gone.

These days I just keep trying everything new I see that isn't retarded but I rarely truly like them so I stick to german pilsners. Bitburger's pils is my goto.

Damned if they didn't cut the corked bottles from my area and replace them with tall-boy 4-packs. I can't find the corked bottles anywhere now. They taste different.

May hit up the Total Wine near me today. It’s a little far, but I like the wide selection, and foreign beers.

Any recommendations at all? I tried weissbeir last time and thought it was nifty stuff

They're also fine just being the top dog in Wisconsin, none of this "LINE GO UP" chasing bullshit and expanding for the sake of expanding

If they have it, Rothaus is an awesome German pilsner

The original is nothing special unless you do it belgo style, together with mustard and cheese.
Then it has it's place because it pairs well because of it's booziness.
But they have a beer called Triple Hop Citra which is absolutely delicious. One of the best beers I've had and I've had a few classics.

I want to add it's ok to not love certain classics and still be a beer guy. I for example find Chimay blue very overrated. Drinkable but nowhere near it's hype according to my taste buds. But I love other beers so I know it's not a 'good beer in general' problem, I just don't agree with the consensus on that particular one, that's all.

In Belgium it's a standard strong beer you order in a place where you're not too familiar with the local beers. Sort of like an 8.5% Budweiser. It's definitely not on the same tier as Trappist ales or locally produced dubbels or tripels. It's nice but it's definitely not fancy.

Damn shame. I reckon the bottles were a pain in the ass to recycle because of their unusual format and they just switched to cans to save money. Fond memories of getting a Fin Du Monde or Maudite before a punk or metal gig as the fancy alternative to a Labatt 10.1
