Slow baking a baked potato really is superior. Look it up. 250 degrees for 3 1/2~ hours is best for a russet this size.
Slather it up with canola butter and go to town to get your shopping done and when you get back it's done. No need to cover.
250 degrees is a good temp for other things as well. 4th of July is coming up. Pork Back Ribs are great for exactly the same time and temperature. Hell, hit em both with the broiler for two minutes right at the end if for some reason you like them crispy. Not my thing.
I am only making a potato now though. When the chores are done I'll have my dinner waiting for me.
