I never cook lasgana sheets before layering the lasagna and it always turns out fine, yet I often see people do this. Is there any reason to pre-cook these?

Are you buying the no-boil noodles? They aren't as thick and don't have the ribbony sides as pictured. That curly edge can make your edges and corners even better overdone textures.

Iv never done it, no real reason too as it's gonna absorb moisture from the sauces as it cooks in the oven anyway

Depends how much sauce you use since uncooked pasta will absorb a lot of water from it. I usually par-cook them just so I can fit them in the pan neater.
