I recently had a simple bean and rice burrito from the Bell and it was bland. Couldn't even finish it in the car it was so flavorless. Had to go home and drown it in sauce.

Ugh. Some time in the 1990s they changed their bean paste recipe. The new stuff tasted like wallpaper paste. I stopped getting them after that.

Maybe they've fixed things, but I doubt it, especially since that photo looks just like the changed version.

Anyone remember the Bean Burrito Especial? it had double the amount of beans of a normal Bean Burrito, cheddar cheese, red sauce, onions, and the Creamy Jalapeno Sauce normally used in modern day Taco Bell quesadillas. It used the same 12-inch tortilla as the Grilled Stuft Burrito. So good even if it gave me diarrhea sometimes.

For some reason my taco bell doesn't upcharge for chicken/steak on the bean burrito when you order through doordash.

Directly from them it's $1.80 for the burrito + $1.80 for meat. But on doordash it's $2.30 for the burrito, with no charge for the meat. So you save over $1 per burrito.

I get 3 bean and cheese burritos with chicken for under $7, instead of $9-10 in-store.
