July 18, schnitzel and sauerbraten with spaetzle would be hard to beat!

The late Sunday celebration of the 4th will probably get your bratwurst and pretzel fix too, because they'll likely be char grilled. When I was a kid, our "grill" events at the German-American club would have bockwurst, bauernwurst, weisswurst and other interesting more rare links.
