The Finns love salty licorice so much they have salty licorice-flavored gum, ice cream, cough drops, lollipops etc. It's unironically bizarro world over there.

Just because your american mind can't comprehend that people outside your shithole country don't eat everything with a pound of sugar doesn't mean its bizarro, pal

What does salty licorice taste like? Not like licorice dipped in salt. I heard it tastes like ammonia.

Finland isn't real, it's a hypothetical testbed we use for potential EU policies and campaigns. Sorry for the confusion.

the salt isn't sodium chloride, but ammonium chloride.
it's more biting and pungent than salt, and it does smell like ammonia, but in a pleasant nose-clearing way, like a strong menthol drop.

i've had salmiak flavored candy drops and chewing gum before, and it honestly works as a replacement for mint, lemon or cinnamon in sugar free gum.
people who hate liquorice would probably hate talking to you after you freshened your breath with one of those, though.
the main reason why i think the chewing gum isn't more popular, is that it loses flavor quickly compared to menthol flavored gum.
maybe it's because the salmiak salt is water soluble, and menthol is an oil?

It tastes like licorice but the salt they use is similar to what horseradish does to your nose, but in your mouth. It's very unique and definitely worth trying at least once. I am not a huge fan of the stuff but a piece of two is honestly pretty enjoyable, but I also love normal black licorice

I love salmiakki. But I don't like that kind of ice cream. In fact I bought salmiakki yesterday so I should eat it all. Also, tar-flavoured licorice is great. I have those as well. Pic related.

If itโ€™s really hot and youโ€™re dehydrated you will actually benefit from consuming something with some salt. Salted caramel should be a more popular option for very hot days.

Licorice is tasty, but also consistently linked to lowering testosterone levels, which explains a lot about the current state of Nordic affairs, especially Sweden, where 26% of white males are now born without external genatalia.

What's the problem? Licorice is a spice, just like vanilla is a spice. You want spiced ice cream, you have a choice in Finland. In America, you just get vanilla.

As a dutchfag I love me some salty licorice but anything else licorice flavored is nauseating.
I had a shot of pic related last weekend, against my better judgment, and it instantly ruined my night.

The licorice flavor isn't strong in Fisk. It's mostly minty. It's great. I love it and I hate licorice lol.
