Trust your kids. My dad is American. My mum is not. When we moved to the US when I was 9, he tried everything to get me to be a typical American kid which to him, I guess means eating junk food. He bought so much garbage without me asking for it and I didn't like any of it. I mention this because my mother raised all of us kids on whole foods cooked at home so I didn't grow up craving any of that stuff and didn't tend to like it when I tried it past the age it would've been marketed to me. If you raised your kids on good stuff, they will likely make similar choices.
