its just very sweet and very fishy crab, my dad had lobster cages and i thought it was gonna be amazing because "lobster is expensive so it must taste nice" or so i believed as a child.

Its nice. The meat is thick and flavorful. You dont need all that fancy crap just boil smash and eat drowned in butter. The fancy style crap is also quite good.

My father and uncle both have lobster harvesting licences and I agree. Large lobsters tastes like low tide smell. I much prefer eating the free Jonah crabs we pull up.

its overrated but fine
taking them apart yourself sucks though especially at the dinner table when you get a juicy one and fucking juices are flying everywhere just for a morsel of meat
take them apart ahead of time and just make lobster rolls for you and whoever else
the best part is the meat you suck out the legs

It’s decadent for sure, but in the same way as a scallop. Just sweet and buttery and don’t need too much of it, and if you had it all the time you wouldn’t care about it.

It's like a big shrimp, but worse. Like imagine a shrimp that is so damm big that you'd really need a temperature probe to cook it properly but nobody seems to bother because it's "proper" to do battle with plate armor to get at a cock size piece of rubbery shrimp that cost as much as actual good fish, and you can't eat the tail or the head

This OP. Honestly I couldn't tell the difference in (cheaper) lump crab meat.

Look at this faggot looking for an excuse to use the word inherently even though nothing they said has anything to do with the thread at all. Comprehension skills are important.

My grandfather was an old salty, he said lobster was a cheap poor man’s food way back in the day, then Big Lobster began price fixing behind a propaganda campaign targeting the rich. Lobster is mid-level shellfish and only a fool pays through the nose for it.

You need to let those fuckers drain out after cooking. Mixing bowl, crack the claws, stand on head. Walleye
