I've cooked with and without it and honestly didn't notice a difference. Maybe I'm retarded though

I do it sometimes because the youtubers told me
but desu I think they overdo it as virtue signaling to show they're cool with the asians and not racist or something gay like that

Nah I'm afraid of develop a tolerance to it and it will ruin my palate and I'd have to put it in everything just to make it taste normal

It's completely unnecessary and takes away rather than adds flavour.

sometimes. when a dish is missing "something" that you can't quite put a finger on, it's probably MSG.

>Do you use msg when cooking?
sometimes

in
>sauce for pizza after you cooked down the tomatoes
>various home made sauces / flavored oils
>any kind of broth (for ramen, hotpot, thin soups)
>in any stir fry dish once the carbs are added
>on potatoes

generally don't overdo it
it should be used like any other intensive spice

There is MSG in some of my rice mixes, such as Zatarain's. It's also in the Sazon Goya bouillons. Ehh, don't need it. I use other additions in those recipes using either, anyway. I always know when I've had MSG slipped into my food. My lips are dry and might split first thing in the morning afterwards. I may have other effects which I can't pinpoint or prove.

No you aren't. If you were allergic to sodium you would be dead, it's a building block of life. If you were allergic to glutamine you'd be dead, you're FUCKING MADE OF IT MATE.

I think of stuff like MSG and Splenda as flavor enhancers and not entirely functional on their own. MSG should be paired with a protein dense item, and Splenda tends to work with carb dense items that don't need to work with yeast. As for fats, just pick a fat that tastes good to you.
I like how they kinda amp up the flavor to 11, even before you add some spices.

Seasonings already contain โ€œthe right amount of MSG,โ€ so you don't have to buy MSG to use it.
