What would you do with freshly bought watermelon rinds? All they're good for is composting.

In Japan, it is seen as disrespectful to whoever prepared the meal to cram less desirable parts such as the watermelon rind. Japanese etiquette demands that only the finest single piece of each meal be crammed.

it's more that they can choke if they eat them too fast or are startled while chewing, there's a risk but it's overstated, dogs exist because wolves would eat the bones and garbage humans threw away outside their camp

I personally don't consider it worth it but it's not the big deal people think

It's a self perpetuating hysteria. The dog will only choke if you freak out and try to steal their bone, forcing them to try and swallow it before they're done chewing.

you're retarded. its cooked bones they cant have because it makes them brittle and will splinter which will damage the digestive tract. fresh raw bones are ok as long as they havent been cut(fragments).

the japanese government actively tries to hide poverty for tourism reasons so it's probably "higher than you'd think."

japan also has a weird "homeless" situation where people sleep in those pod hotels or internet cafes or karaoke bars so on paper they have almost no homeless but in reality it's substantial

volcanic sites are great for growing things though. And it gets hot there. They should have no trouble planting melons.

nigga it says right there the precut watermelon slices are 298 yen...

ffs tik tokers are brain dead. The reason those are sold is because most people use that part for decorations on dishes. A whole watermelon costs about 2000 yen at AEON if you buy it during peak season.

Keep in mind most fruits only reproduce (effectively) through grafting.
Planting an appleseed will grow an apple tree, and in 10 or 15 years time it will probably produce some apples but they won't be the same type you got the seed from and are unlikely to even taste edible.
