Yankee here. How's my Cajun ricin black beans look? This is the first time I've made it from scratch, but am familiar with Zatarain's so I had that in my mind to guide me.

It's delicious with some chipotle Tabasco

Looks very tasty, was it easy to make? I’ve never made a Cajun dish before

Thanks anon, surprisingly easy to make. I lacked some of the ingredients one would normally use but just kind of winged it. Didn't have sausage but had some ham, simmered the ham and onions in oil, added some garlic paste, a couple tablespoons of tomato paste, added a healthy dose of Cajun spice, smoked paprika, oregano, a couple chopped pickled chillies I had, the black beans, and then a couple cups of water and a Stock Pot™.

Simmered it down until it was thinkened like a sauce, and then mixed-in (already cooked) rice and let it soak up all the goodness.

I will def be making this again soon, might add some sausage and prawns to it as well
