My grandma used to cook up pork brain. It's was supposedly quite good, but very hard to get nowadays.
This old cookbook I have from the 70s still has recipes for pork and beef brains.
One recipe is for potatoes stuffed with beef brains, I always wanted to try it

By contrast, milt has an off-putting almost snotlike consistency, couple with the fact it tastes like 4 day old fish stored in barrel in the sun smells. And on top of that, it's sperm.

there's a lot of fat in brains, and prions weren't known about until very recently.
i've only had rabbit brain before.
it's about walnut sized and i'd describe the texture like a softer fattier liver.

knowing that prions exist, and that they can ruin your life decades after ingesting them, kinda makes brains not worth it for me though.

Brains were often considered a delicacy even in Western Europe, especially French cuisine for pork and beef and not just a thirdie thing. Haven’t been able to get beef brain here in Britain though since 1990 due to the Mad Cow Disease outbreak.

That would be CWD which iirc is a prion as well. I see a lot of deer in my area that are skeleton-mode and don't seem to have a normal fear response.
I saw a video of a deer completely losing its mind, doing legit Exorcist-type movements in the middle of the field, not sure if it was CWD or something else but it was pretty disturbing.
