Man of taste, I see. What is it with Islanders and carrot juice, anyway? The missus practically lives on that stuff and I joke that the only reason we got together is because I cooked her the food of my people for our first at home dinner together: vadas csirke IE chicken in carrot gravy. The traditional recipe is more involved, using parsley root, parsnips and carrot cooked with onions in lard or chicken grease, made into a compound roux then used to thicken chicken stock into a gravy and blitzed smooth then finished with marjoram and lovage. My version is just onion-roux which I use to thicken carrot juice flavoured with Polish vegetable stock cubes, which taste of parsley root, parsnip, marjoram and lovage. A little prepared mustard rounds out both versions.

We just got Popeyes. $5 for 3piece meal. We got two which is enough for the three of us. We've been cooking less the last few months, but not by much, just one fast food or supermarket meal every other week or so. Deals have been really, really good lately.
