The chile relleno is my metric for a mexican restaurant. Any time I go to a mex joint for the first time, I order the rellenos. Nothing fancy, just a straight rellenos. If it's not good, it's almost 100% guaranteed their food sucks across the board.

i like them a lot, never considered getting them with chicken though. i just like it with rice and beans.

i guess it's kind of like a better version of a jalapeno popper. those are good too though. but only the ones with cream cheese. the ones with just cheddar in them kinda suck.

I could see how that works. I use the rellenos because it's very few ingredients, but it tests technique and the base of all their foods.
