what are some healthy asian home meals? chinese? japanese? I am dieting and i need more meals other than the same 3 things: Turkey bacon BLT, mexican style scrambled eggs and eggs on toast + turkey bacon. that's all i eat most of the time.
when i say home meals i mean cheap shit that they just make with basic things they have at their disposal. For example. As an american we make things like peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hot dogs, ham sandwiches with mayo, pop corn, tuna sandwiches, omeletes, grilled cheese.
what's the asian equivalent where they just take rice and whatever and make crap? i have the benefit of having an H-mart as well as many other asian stores near by so i can get just about any specific asian brand of rice or whatever is necessary.
The rice of the egg cooks the heat.
>>21452028 (OP)For me it rice, teriyaki sauce, chicken, and frozen stir fry veg
There's so much frogs and anime on the catalog for a second I though this was a mispost from /co/
Stir fry
Also try making Spanish rice. Itโs very good.
>>21452028 (OP)There are tons of channels that show simple stuff you can make. Just go watch the food tubers.
>>21452028 (OP)Broccoli and steak stir fry
I make a lot of bibimmyeon in the summer
>>21452361>okonomiyakiCabbage pancakes with add ons
>onigiriRice
>yakisobaStir fry with wheat noodles
>donburiMeat and veg in sauce over rice
>nabeHot pot
So asian... much carbs

>>21453920Purging. Small portions. Being involved in a physical activity as a social and cultural norm
And it ain't all of em...
>>21453943you mean a society that actually gives a damn about their citizen's health?
buy boneless skinless thighs/leg meat, chicken offal (hearts/gizzard), or pork. cube or cut into strips & marinate 1+hr to overnight in spices, brown sauces, and an acid
stir fry onion garlic and peppers in oil. add meat. splash of cooking wine. chili paste to taste. serve over rice, garnish with scallion.
Sub peppers with any common stir fry vegetable thats on sale or keeps frozen; broccoli, snow peas, green beans etc
All else fails you can do Filipino adobo. It's not healthy but it sticks to your ribs and is cheap as hell
Sweat onion & garlic
Brown meat
Any ratio of soy sauce/vinegar/water (simplest being 1:1:1)
Add an assload of whole peppercorns and some bayleaves
Simmer
Serve over rice
I grew up eating filipino food for dinner every night, and as an adult I find noodle dishes tedious and not worth the result. I stick with anything that sticks to or is absorbed by rice.
>>21454007It's cheaper than bone in for the task at hand. If OP said he wanted to make bone broth my post would have been different
>>21452028 (OP)Marinated roasted/fried meat served with rice and steamed veg. Dip the veg into some soy sauce mixed with a cut chilli, or if you're a lao gan ma guy (I personally am not), drizzle some of that on top. Alternatively, just have pickled greens / kimchi instead. It's the easiest shit in the world to make.
There's tons of youtube channels devoted to Chinese cooking. Chinese Cooking Demystified is good, but a lot of their dishes are very elaborate and they do have a particular focus on authenticity, but they do suggest alternative ingredients if you can't source the local stuff. Cooking with Lau is decent and a bit more laid back.
>>21452028 (OP)This is extremely easy to make (you don't need a ceramic pot, just use your smallest saucepan). I make it for breakfast now and again:

you want to eat rice on a diet?

I donโt think Iโve ever seen boneless and skinless cheaper than its bone in counterpart. Itโs a better deal even if you donโt use it. Literally takes 2 minutes to remove the skin and bone.
>>21452028 (OP)>onions sauce>chinese 5 spice>garlic, ginger, galangal>white pepper>bamboo shootsand whatever veg you have in the fridge, just don't overcook it
>hanaromartThe only thing good about this chain is that they're open late
t. Yuen's enjoyer
>>21456240That's just because all you're seeing is the "markup" for the labor of being skinned and boned.
Next time you go the store buy one package of bone-in and one of boneless skinless thighs, both of the same weight. Take them home, bone and skin the chicken and weight then again. You'll be surprised how much you're actually paying per lb of bones and skin you're more likely than not going to toss. because if you wanted to make stock with the bones we both know you'd just buy a whole bird, not try to make it from. 2lbs of thighs
>>21453920Processed carbs aren't the same as natural carbs. You can eat a lot more rice than you can bread without getting fat
Bread was designed to deliver as many calories as possible in a single serving so serfs could eat quickly and then get back to toiling in the fields
It's part of the reason why Japanese people tend to be smaller in stature too, rice doesn't give children much of a surplus of energy for their bodies to grow with
Somewhat Korean beef bowl
Lean ground beef
>brown beef, add salt and pep
>once browned, add korean chilli powder, soysauce, sesame oil, gochujang, garlic, a splash of mirin and a bit of ginger if you have it
Spinach banchan
>blanch spinach
>after bag is blanched and cold, squeeze the water out
>add sesame oil, soy sauce and sesame seeds
Put over rice
>fry egg (optional)
Put the egg on top and eat. I make it for work lunches and it gets the job done. No need to put tons of effort in for something that's going to be microwaved anyway
