The perfect pizza, chicken bacon ranch. Chicken and bacon are complimented by ranch leagues more than italian cured meats are by marinara

its better because you never end up with that shit where theres a huge crust and all the cheese/toppings are sunk to the center, while there's a ring of cheeseless sauce just under the giant bread ridge

I genuinely think in the future pizza will be recognized for what it really is, a bread and cheese vessel for any toppings and sauces you can imagine, and people like Dave Portnoy who want a specific and very basic pizza will be looked at like a baby boomer stuck in the past

there is this retarded idea like "if you want to judge a pizza place, get cheese only! thats the only way to tell the quality"

i generally hate notions of "blah blah is outdated" but in this case, it really is a matter of something being a stupid idea based on one random idiot spreading it around to the point it becomes some like wanna be-know how lore that isn't even true. If you can't tell the quality of cheese even when it has toppings on it, you're some kind of fucking retard, which makes me think you wouldn't know the quality of cheese to begin with

Not a fan of ranch as a sauce baked into the pizza. Better off making the pizza sauceless and drizzling the ranch on top.

When I worked at Jet's which OP was called, they had the best ranch in town, like the better sit down restaurants, because we mixed the ranch ourselves with hidden valley seasoning packets (which are good, its just the store bought pre made hidden valley that sucks), buttermilk, mayo, and IIRC they even put oil in it but I could be remembering wrong

These days I have no idea, they didn't have chicken bacon ranch pizza back then, just like BBQ Chicken, BLT, and Chicken Parm as the like "specialty pizzas"

You can't really go wrong with Med food, it's pretty man powered (meat and bread). Jewish food tends to be the only bad stuff from that general area because instead of eating masculine beef and lamb they eat things like rotten fish, but in the US jewish food is good like Reubens

That makes me think of the ranch that Gumby's (a college town chain with only a few locations today) used to make themselves. Then they moved on to Ken's and then some other brand, but their homemade was always the best. It's been years and I wonder if they just used HV packets like you guys

Not a good comparison at all. If it's up to me, I wouldn't order a plain cheese pizza if there are better options, so the idea of ordering and eating one as an obligatory "test run" to judge whether or not the restaurant is worthy of me ordering the thing I actually want is just kinda stupid and unnecessary. I won't have any trouble judging the quality of the pizza I actually wanted to order
