Why did soylent fall of so hard bros. I can't believe a British brand is winning for once.

Seriously though, soylent has had the first mover effect, did all the soyboy memes and soyjaks kill it's brand image in the states?

One was designed by an actual nutritionist, the other was designed by a software engineer who "read biochemistry textbooks". It's clear which one I'd pick based on that alone.

But yes, naming your product after one of nature's strongest sources of phytoestrogens wasn't exactly a great marketing strategy.

“Soy” has officially become a thing to avoid among even normies now—it breached /fit/ and /pol/ containment and became absolutely mainstream. Companies now specifically advertise that their products do NOT contain soy, the same way they would say gluten-free or BPA-free. Meanwhile, this retard company PUT IT IN THE FUCKING NAME. How well do you think “MegaGluten” would sell these days?

I'd say naming it after a fictional food ration made from humans was the more retarded move.

Malk is named for the cheap fake milk in 'The Simpsons' but someone still thought it was a good name.

Huel, sounds like fuel obviously, implies purity and energy.
Soylent, subconsciously implies eating the dead, even among many who claim no conscious recognition of the film Soylent Green.

I knew "Soylent green is people!" before I'd even heard of the film, it was everywhere in the 90's and early aughts for some reason

Why did livestream lose to twitch? The same reason twitch allows the porn industry to scout on its platform and events.
