Avocados are added to dished because most compounds responsible for flavor are fat soluble and adding oil/fat to a dish enhances the flavor.

Its kinda the whole purpose of adding a fat/oil too a dish.. it makes it taste better despite the oil itself being relatively flavorless.

I buy basic ass avocados from walmart and get them green/green brown and wait a few days until they ripen then start eating them and put the rest in the fridge. I have bad avocados maybe a few times a year. this isnt rocket science

I also figured out you want the longer ones instead of the fat ones because the seeds are larger in the fat ones which you can clearly see in that pic

I'm so sick of avocados, it's season here and I have three trees in my backyard and they are all full, there's also a big one in my neighbor's property that keeps dropping them in my property and I pick them up so they don't go to waste. today I went and picked around 30 and gave them away but there's still a bunch in my kitchen. next year for sure I'm gonna cut down at least one three and plant something else.

Last few times I’ve had ACKvacados I’ve done ‘‘em in tortillas with microwaved cheese, salt and peppered with the stuff spliced up and bashed between.

Always feel out the avocados int he store to make sure they're not overripe. Pick green ones and let them ripe at home.
