I think people are very out of touch with how many adults like sweet shit. I worked at a liquor store and blacks and asians both fucking loved disgustingly sweet drinks. They oddly had VERY similar drinking habits for two groups who dislike each other.

Anyway, every underage kid I knew would get the same shit. Karkov with some oj, or rum

In America most people never mature, so it's not that they are making this or their porn literally to appeal to children, it's that the key demographic most companies go for are adults who think and act like children. So they get their blue raspberry liquor, chug it while watching a movie about comic book characters and then masturbate to Japanese cartoons where it's okay that it looks like a five year old with bouncing tits because she's actually five thousand years old and a demon. Or... they watch a 40 something black dude fuck an 18 year old in a school uniform in the ass for an hour. Coin flip on which.

Side note, it's not that the companies care if actual kids are also drawn to that stuff, they just aren't the target audience because it's adults with the brains of children who buy shit.

Indeed, you seem very focused on trying to control what other people choose to do. It sounds frustrating and unfulfilling.

>hope sharing joints comes with the same risks as sharing needles.

It wasn't a joint it was a bag of herb, but I told him to just give it to someone else. I'm not big into it especially if it was too low quality for him. I just found it funny. He's a cool guy, must have some form of government assistance because he never begs but lives in a little shack near the train tracks and seems to spend most of his money feeding stray cats.

>relaxing activities or substances
Ask my close buddy Jordan Peterson all aboat those "relaxing" substances. They were really fun during that vacation he had to Russia...
I'm kidding, if you couldn't tell. I know those were prescribed to him as a sleep aid. He still ended up with withdrawals and it fucked him up so much it required what we in the West would call "radical" intervention. So even when we're trying to get it "right," we still end up getting it horribly wrong. Fancy that for a second...
>allowed to exercise free will in what they choose to partake

Funny thing you mention Peterson as your friend, I have met the man several times. As noted I'm Canadian, from southern Ontario and attended a number of his UofT lectures in the early 00's. He was indeed quite a brilliant man. Unfortunately it seems a combination of staring into the abyss for several years on end while in gastrointestinal agony warped him into the bizzare state he's in now.

Yes, because ethanol abuse is so normalized across the world that its effects are nearly unrecognizable.
>a beerski with their friends
Case in point. As I mentioned before, we view inebriation to be part and parcel with celebration. Tell me, how is pickling yourself at a bar all too different from the "laughing gas parties" of the 19th century? Oh wait, I forgot about those darn "whippets," or that household brand "Galaxy Gas." The more things change, I guess...

The difference is, we mostly stopped all of those goofy medical things as we advanced as a species. We're always doing something that will be looked at poorly by future generations, medicine wise, but we've also done away with stuff we realized doesn't work.
Meanwhile, alcohol has been the cornerstone of every civilization and is still widely consumed today. There are alcoholics and there are negative health effects associated with excessive drinking, but this was always the case, and ancient people also wrote about the dangers of drinking too much. There is a wealth of evidence showing that people who drink wine moderately live longer. The life expectancy in Italy and in France, two nations where the population drinks wine like it's water, is 82 years.

Sadly, it seems most cultures are hypocrites on the drug question, so it's hard to find even a single-digit number of cultures that practice total abstinence from them, let alone ones you would call "significant."

So do you think humans and other animals should have the free will to choose if they consume ethanol, or not? If you don't want to drink I have no desire to change your behavior, it's your free choice to make. But if I would like to drink because I enjoy the effects, get the impression you would like to control my actions so that is not a choice I can make. Am I wrong on that?

If so, what is your opinion of non-human animals that consume ethanol or other things for their psychoactive effects?

If it was banned once it stands to reason it could be banned again. Furthermore, while it is up to law enforcement to enforce the law, it is the job of the citizenry to elect a legislature that writes laws of the land, and ultimately decides what those laws should be.
