Everyone starts off with just one. There's nothing wrong with it. Cooking is a fundamental life skill and you need to make it your desire to get better at it and expand your skills and toolset or else you're going to end up an obese and poor shithead that eats fast food for every meal

In the United States, Tefal is marketed as T-fal. This change was made to avoid trademark issues with DuPont's "Teflon."

Project Farm found Granitstone Blue Diamond to be the best bang for the buck. I bought some and agree, they've lasted longer than TFal and are amazingly slick when new. Tramontina is also a very good value.

tl;dr TFal is shit.

if it's your only pan you probably won't be very happy. making burgers or eggs in that would be annoying. I use those pans when I'm making something wet that makes the straight walls useful, otherwise they'd just get in the way. plus you can't pour out of it at all. also fyi if you go to their website you can get a cheap set

this a gimmick thread but your gimmick is stupid. if' you're doing any amount of cooking you're going to eventually need to cook things at the same time in different pans.

if you only own one pan, that's a good shape the start with.
i've owned a lot of different non-stick pans in my life. the absolute best have been my ninja foodie never-stick. nice and heavy, textured, i've used them constantly for the past ~2 years and they are just as nonstick as when i first got them. highly recommend.

One pan person here. I went with Meyer Accolade Stainless Steel 12.5" Everyday Pan.

- Encapsulated bottom is great. I've had cheap pans warp on me because of thin bottoms. Plus it's got fantastic thermal mass for heat distribution.

- Proper non-stick coating. Not ceramic that lasts 2 weeks. All of their pans come with a LIFETIME warranty.

Comes also in a basic stainless steel version if you don't like non-stick. But, this non-stick is actually solid. I've been blasting it with heavy cooking for months, and it still looks brand new. Mess just slides off under running sink water.

And 2 months later are garbage. I personally love non-stick, just not ceramic non-stick. And I have personally bought 2 blue diamond pans when I was inexperienced.

If you want to limit yourself to a single pan, it has to be stainless steel

You can get away with one piece of cookware, but it is going to limit you. You just need to consider what you'll be making. Sautee pan is a good option, but frying a lot of things in it sucks. and it pretty much can't make things that require a pot like instant ramen or mashed potatoes. You get a lot more milage out of a fry pan and a saucier. Either way, just get stainless steel. Non-stick is convenient, but just limits you even more.

I get away with 1 pan and 3 pots.

1 quart pot for ramen, gravy, etc.
2 quart pot for mac & cheese, medium size batches of pasta, etc.
8 quart stockpot for sterilizing jam jars, cooking long spaghetti, etc.

My one pan is >>21461959

I used to have shitloads of assorted pots and pans, and after downsizing to 1 pan and 3 pots, cleaning and storing is so much more enjoyable.

Anyone looking for 1 or 2 quart pots, grab the OXO Pro set before it's gone. OXO is partnering with a ceramic coating company and are moving away from their gold standard non-stick pots.

I kind of want to go minimalist kitchen as well. I am thinking of just getting a mess tin, single knife and cutting board, single fork, and seeing how far I can get with just those tools.
I don't usually cook anything too adventurous and I'm fine with it looking like sloppa. I only ever cook for myself (permavirgin will never have a woman in my house so why care?)
I've realized 90% of everything every man buys is to impress women. Now that I've awoken to this Matrix I am trying to escape and buy only the things that improve MY life and not useless shit that schlomo has convinced women that men should have.
