Is 'Italian' cuisine overrated? I ate at this place and it was fucking mid. Do people really get hyped for this over-salted slop? Is this really all 'Italy' can achieve? No wonder the French mog them.
You should look up Old Wild West. I wanna know if we got American cuisine as completely wrong as Olive Garden does to Italian cuisine.
>>21459883I don't consider a bucket of grease mixed with meat and soylent to be cuisine in the first place.
Olive Garden is mid, Italian food in general is pretty good. Olive Garden is a fast food restaurant marketed as a nice sit down place, it's not really above the tier of pasta you get at like Pizza Hut.
Now, if you go to Olive Garden the best things to get are the fried shrimp appetizer with peppers served with spicy ranch sauce, and any Alfredo dish.
The best bang for you buck IMO is the Torellini Alredo, sub chicken for shrimp. You won't need to eat more. It's not high quality, but better than making the same thing made with pre-jarred sauce, and frozen shrimp and pasta from the grocery store. That's the level you're dealing with here, better than low effort home cooking, not as good as actual effort cooking
'Italian' cuisine is just Greek anyway, anon. Go to a Greek restaurant and you'll get a dish x10000 better than even the best 'authentic' meme 'Italian' (16th generation NEU YAWKERS who've never gone further than fucking JOISEY in their life) restaurant.
>>21459876 (OP)you haven't had italian cuisine.
>>21459876 (OP)/ck/ is so badly filled with foodlets that I'm not even sure this is bait
>>21459883No. It's similar. Just exceptionally overpriced. Didn't need to tip though
For chain restaurants, East Side Mario's mogs Olive Garden hardcore. If you want actual italian, go somewhere independent.
