JUNE 23, 2025

Firenze Restaurant and Pizzeria operated from July 10, 1964, to June 21, 2025.
The restaurant’s official website posted the dates and did not give any reason.
Gordon Ramsay reportedly visited the outlet a few days back as part of one of his TV shows.

Decades-Old Restaurant in Warren Closes Permanently

Firenze Restaurant and Pizzeria’s website states June 21, 2025, as the last day of operation. The closure was unexpected and did not mention a reason.

Firenze Restaurant and Pizzeria was an Italian and American restaurant in Warren since 1964. As per the restaurant’s official website, it closed permanently on June 21, 2025. The restaurant gave no prior closure notice or an exact reason for going out of business. The long-time customers of Firenze are deeply saddened by the news.

Firenze Restaurant and Pizzeria, located at 11028 E 10 Mile Rd, Warren, MI 48089, was once a popular destination among patrons for its Italian-American menu options. The official website of the restaurant now shows that it has shut its doors permanently.

Firenze Restaurant & Pizzeria, a beloved Italian‑American restaurant in Warren, opened on July 10, 1964, and closed permanently on June 21, 2025, according to its official website. The establishment shut down without prior notice or explanation, leaving many long‑time patrons deeply saddened.

The restaurant was known for its authentic pizza, ravioli, and a wide menu offering burgers, sandwiches, etc. There was a word that the restaurant revamped its menu and outlet, and a few days back, star chef Gordon Ramsay also visited. He came there to analyze and suggest how Firenze can improve, which was a part of his TV show format.

Even after revamp attempts and a visit by a famous personality, the restaurant could not keep up with its operations. This reveals how tough the restaurant industry can get at times. The decision to close down without a clear explanation raises questions about what could have been wrong. Currently, fans of the local pizzeria will have to find another place to get their favorite Italian dishes.

His restaurant turn around shows are like going to see a marriage counselor. Once you have to go to see a marriage counselor, the marriage is over.

I've seen restaurants close/get renamed literally the day after one of those aired.

Depends on your definition. I've read a few of those lists that go in to detail on the restaurant closings. A lot will add a percentage on how many are closed but it's dishonest. They'll say 99% are closed but what they are talking about are restaurants all the way back from season 1 in 2005. While many close soon after, way more still last quite a few years or more before the owners retire and sell it off. Funny enough a lot just end up switching back to their old menus. What's really sad is how many are forced to closed. When Gorden comes in and gives a free remodeling quite a few of the leasers/land lords hike up their rent or just kick them out instantly so they can sell the location at a premium.

So if you consider any closing as a close then yeah Gorden sucks. If you consider lasting another 7-10+ years successful then yeah he's pretty good.

Rumor is that Firenze took Ramsay's advice and changed the menu and stopped doing take-out orders, which pissed off all the regulars and eliminated a good source of additional sales.

The only way redslop eye-talian joints can make it anymore is with a thick layer of irony and at least some awareness of what people want to eat these days, that place was probably slopping up overboiled creamette with ketchup and carafes of gallo chablis and wondering why nobody wanted to eat there anymore, I know flyover land is a few decades behind but even still that puts it in the '00s at best which is way too late for a place like that to try to remain relevant

If it was actually packed, something was going on behind the scenes, probably gross mismanagement. But also it could just be aging owners fed up . Restaurants that aren't already on the brink of closing don't let a troll show like Kitchen Nightmares come in. The owner gets paid for letting them come in, there is almost certainly some line in the contract that says the restaurant has to at least stay open until the episode has aired. It's likely they were already planning to close either way but got on TV for an extra bit of cash.

Yes. If you lack education. You know, I think I'll call the main course "the bench" and the dessert "the violin".
"hello waiter, yes I'll the bucatini amatriciana for my bench and perhaps do you have something other than the panna cotta for violin?"

I'd be extremely leery if I saw this menu. There's way too much for most of that to not be pre-packaged or frozen. If not, then food waste would be what's killing the business.

>>21470978
Much better, but the menu could be expanded a bit--like 2-3 more entrees and 1-2 more apps or sides--and some of the names should be changed because it's detroit and they're retarded.

It's just the relaunch menu, it's supposed to be simple so the cooks don't shit themselves trying to learn 500 things. The intent is to expand the menu reasonably after the fact, but again, it's Detroit so I doubt they thought of that

i had one of these 'american-italian' places near me with a large ass menu - essentially all american food + pizza. It was good for a time, like 15 years back, when it was cheap and like 50-50 reheated slop and some cooking. like you get a flounder sub and just be reheated fried fish but there's real lettuce tomato cheese, and it be like $8

then eventually it went like 85-15 cisco and all $15 dollar shit once you add in tax. happened all over where some places prices are out pacing the price of food but with shittier service

Why did you make this up? The new furniture is the restraunt's so it has nothing to do with the landlord. Typically landlords split or pay for the cost of tenant improvements when someone else moves into the space. So no this doesn't happen

I'm guessing three things added up to Firenzes closing:

1. Free money by being on Gordon Ramsay's tv show and letting him take the blame for the closure.

2. Outrageously high property values and they have a nice sized chunk of real estate.

3. Changing demographics with more Blacks moving in the city.

I'm so fucking sick of this shit. The town I live in has like 10 hip upscale Italian restaurants with menus like this but there's literally nowhere to get regular classic Italian-American food, the last one left closed last year because the owner was old as fuck and retired. I just want a decent spaghetti and meatballs or chicken parm and literally the only place to get anything close now is fucking Olive Garden.

We also just lost the Victory Inn a few miles away from Firenze, which had been there since 1946 and where my friends and I went every Sunday to watch the Lions, have a few beers and some food and catch up with each other.

Sheetz came in and offered a ton of money for the property and the owner couldn't refuse.

The lady who owned The Donut Factory has a son but he lives out West somewhere (Oregon?) and he had no interest in moving back to Warren to run the joint, so she sold it.

The Victory Inn was owned by three cousins from the original family (their uncle was former NFL player Joe Delamielleure) with one of them also running the place but she's 60 or so and Sheetz offered them a suitcase of money, so they sold it.

And now Firenzes is closed and the property sold off...

>Warren,MI has been turning into Detroit, same for its other suburbs.

Yes it's sad, as I grew up here and still live here and what's also annoying, all the commercial properties are getting sold and the roads fixed up and improved but the tax base will crumble just like Detroit, as the new residents eventually wreck everything.
