Restaurants buy these as dried hard chips that are compact and shelf-stable -- some Asian supermarkets sell these too, you are suppose to fry them but I've tried wetting them and then microwaving them in corningware -- the risk is that it won't cook evenly so one part is still hard while the other starts burning...if it's small it's doable.
