I was wrong about air fryers. I've got a microwave/oven/grill combo and this thing is amazing just from the time saved. By the time my oven has preheated this unit has finished cooking. Plus You can always still use the oven for bigger dishes and do sides in the unit. I'd even say if I had a nice microwave and oven to begin with, it's worth getting a stand-alone air fryer.
>>21470398 (OP)I usually use mine as a secondary oven when my main oven is occupied. For example I'll roast my veggies in the airfryer while the entree bakes in the oven
i dont think that even at the peak of the reddit air fryer frenzy (literally a decade ago now btw) they talked about the fucking things this much. its just an appliance if you want one get one if you dont dont. got damn.
>>21470442Part of the reason I resisted was because of how hard they were shilled. I'm just saying it's one extra kitchen trinket that is actually worth getting and taking up cupboard space. I haven't been this wrong about a rando kitchen appliance since I bought a rice cooker, which is another appliance I use constantly and love.
Personally I just hate the name. They're not frying a damn thing.
Got a toaster oven and its so handy.
Makes pizza, bread, brownies, cookies etc
Preheats 400F in a minute, so quick and nice.
Made me a better baker just from baking more out of ease of use; increases enjoyability and spontaneous baking.
>>21470398 (OP)Ayyyyy. If you're the anon from that thread a couple months ago, this was my suggestion! I ask only that you break off 10% of your first couple meals and bury it in your yard in my honor.
>too small for more than 2 people
>completely different from actual Dee fried food
it's for lazy singles and nobody else
>>21471259this is what they said about the toaster oven as well
how much does a good air fryer cost
>>21470398 (OP)i looked into air fryers briefly since i live alone but then i realized how much of the housings are plastic. STOP COOKING WITH PLASTIC!
>>21470455I hate the fact that most of them are round fat pieces of shit that demand a ton of counter space.
And for the ones that look like microwaves: aren’t they just toaster ovens?
>>21470398 (OP)Mine always sets off my smoke alarm.
