As an energy drink connoisseur I can't stand vitamin B. Vitamin B has a very weird taste.
There was a time I would drink maybe 4 energy drinks a day and I had this issue where my skin breaks into hives and every part of my body is itching. The issue got so bad I was considering killing myself just to make it stop.
Only years later I found out that taking too much vitamin B can make your skin itching and I am 99% sure that's what was causing it. The problem went away when I stopped drinking Monster energy, switched to lower vitamin B drinks and stuck to 1-2 drinks a day.

That's not the vitamin B, you're a diabetic and were drinking too much sugar.

Aren't most energy drinks now 0 sugar? High amounts of B vitamins are known to cause that. People will claim it's water soluble and you just pee it out with no side effects but high amounts are regularly seen causing sometimes severe toxicity issues.

Energy drinks used to give me really bad jitters so I had to stop. I just limit myself to 2 cups of coffee a day now.

Why even put that much? Like it's water soluble so it's technically safe but what exactly is the reasoning here?

>Like it's water soluble so it's technically safe
that was the theory but it's been proven wrong multiple times. some B vitamins have stricter limits now because they were causing damage in high doses. lots of other stuff is water soluble and causes damage in high amounts too. even water itself will kill you if you drink too much at one time.

it may provide an energy boost to people who are low in B12 but i think it's also a marketing thing. i know some people think the energy they're getting is from the B12 and not the caffeine. it's cheap and you can add 8000% and people see big number and think it must be good.

also they're probably using a low bioavailability form of B12 so you're not really absorbing a ton of it anyway.

I thought the same until I really started paying attention to the exact amount of caffiene I was drinking
turns out 120mg is my tipping point and 150mg is the start of jitters if I drink it all within an hour or so, so I guess I'm sensitive or something
but also theres quite a few drinks out there that are 200mg+ that will just fuck me up
keeping track of daily intake is pretty easy as most places/all bottles&cans clearly state it

That probably explains why I prefer energy drinks over coffee, I've been drinking booze every day for years as well.

what I don't understand is folic acid. when I look it up all I can find about it is that pregnant women need it to prevent birth defects and there's a law to put it in flour so that it's basically impossible to be deficient in it. so what I want to know is why does my men's vitamin have 100% rda of folic acid in it?

I feel the difference from b12, I drink loads of caffeine during the day but that just keeps me neutral at this point
I drink liquid IVs before I exercise and when the b vitamins hit I can feel it, it's not so much energy its more like you lock in

And actually, the last I brought up my bizarre condition, one of you asked me my favourite energy drink but I didn't reply.
Here it is: I don't drink any. I just take s gigantic fuck-off B12 tablet daily

Yeah I'd have like 2, sometimes 3 cans of zero ultra a day and apparently it's 160mg a pop so that's probably why. I guess the occasional one wouldn't be awful but I have about 180mg of caffeine a day now with my coffee which works for me.

your body absorbs a miniscule fraction of the b12 that you ingest. a single b12 capsule from a supplement is 41,667% of your DV and you'll only absorb about 1,100% of your DV from that. Vitamin B12 is stored long term in your liver so if you're deficient it's highly beneficial to get way more than a single DV.

How do you say "legitimately" en ethpanyol, Eduardo? You clearly don't habla Ingles if you think there's something wrong with my use of that word.
