Is it just me or does tikka masala combine horribly with rice? The flavors just don't meld well at all but it's perfect with bread
>>21472412bread is usually less bland because it's fermented and browned during cooking compared to non fermented and non browned non brown non fried non seasoned steamed rice
>>21472421sorry texturelet, it's you
>>21472421Indians also slather their bread in ghee and butter while their rice is as plain as the whites they revere
>>21472402 (OP)PROTIP: when you cook your rice mix in turmeric, cardamom pods and a star anise
Much better than plain white rice.
>>21472412>he eats bland bread and ricePoint at this cooklet and laugh
>>21472402 (OP)I always eat my tikka masala with naan and my palak paneer with rice, and everyone looks at me like I'm autistic
The heat from the tikka masala spices the rice.
>>21472435Grandpa's Kitchen (miss that lil nigga like you wouldn't believe) and all his imitators add spices (cardamom, star anise, maybe a cinnamon stick and a couple cloves) to their rice when they cook it.
>>21472743OP didn't know you could season rice apparently so he needed to be educated.
tikka masala works better with seasoned rice as mentioned above, plain rice is surprisingly detrimental to the dish
I like a jamie oliver rice recipe for it, its a mix of lemon juice/zest, tumeric, pepper, salt, butter thats then mixed with cooked rice.
Also use turkish 10% yoghurt alongside + cilantro leaves on top
aged basmati can make a big difference
also I fry cloves, cardamom and bay leaf in butter before adding rice
I guess I can see bread going with it if you make it tomato-heavy. I use less tomato than the recipe suggests
>>21472402 (OP)Its ok but I prefer to just scoop it with the naan bread from the bowl
>>21472853mix well in hell you old bastard
>>21472402 (OP)Butter Chicken/Tikka masala is supposed to eaten with naan/laccha paratha.
Rice goes with other more watery chicken curries.
