The culinary terrorists now have their sights on ruining the most iconic American beverage ever made. Everything you once loved will be destroyed unless this food tyranny is ended.

The vast majority of corn produced in USA is for animal feed and ethanol. This change won't even affect a single percent of their profits.

You can only grow sugar cane in two US states and it's not economically viable to do it on a scale that could actually meet US domestic cane sugar demand.

I don't believe for one second that HFCS is any worse for you or worse tasting than cane sugar. I think it's all hype.

The original point of educating people about HFCS was so people understood that it is identical to white sugar, not that it was some extra evil toxic chemical. People used to not know what it was reading an ingredient list, and mistakenly get the impression that a product was healthier than it actually was.

> Approximately 6% of the US corn crop is used to produce high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS). This translates to roughly 361 million bushels of corn annually.

And the primary source for the US beverage industry's HFCS is domestically grown corn.

You can grow it in a lot more states than that. It's just mostly grown in only two states *now*.

Again, it's not economically viable to grow it in any other states, just like how corn CAN be grown in all 50 states but it's primarily grown in ~40 US states.

Economic viability is what matters here.

You're delusional, it would take 2-3 years just to establish farms in the first place, and another few years to dial in production, all that time you'll be importing sugar at great expense, especially with tariffs.

Fuckin retard bootlicking faggot.

Who knows.... on the one hand you have the insane historical dominance of Big Corn, being used in everything from baby food and cattle feed to biofuels, receiving billions in Federal subsidies in addition to raw profit.... but now you have agricorps diversified with Big Soy, corn potential possibly tapped out, and the possibility that switching a single market segment to sugar could help slop producers charge a premium, while also fattening government coffers from the import tariffs. I'll definitely be discussing this with other expert economists on the Alex Jones and Roblox forums.
