Here's an anecdote, a boring one: one time I was staying around Lisbon. I'd got shitfaced in the bario alto region. Got back to the house I was staying at, late / early depending how you look at it. Found a McDonald's, about 30 minutes walk along the coast. So I went. Absolutely underwhelming. Moral of the story is that McDonald's is just dogshit wherever.
