>>21476218I react negatively to aspertame with mild headaches, but the sucrolose stuff sits perfectly fine, or at least doesn't do any me any short term detectable harm. I chock it up to just being genetically unlucky, like how some people can't do cilantro. Who knows, maybe someone will discover it does a thing to a thing and that's why people hate it. Although I thought there was some research that showed it made you crave more sugar or some shit and wasn't useful for dieting, but I never read into it to see if that was just garbage reporting.
Unfortunately for me, all the diet soda brands use aspertame, so I have to avoid them. But at least all the drink mixes support sucrolose, so I can use them all the time. Assuming the artificial flavor they used is any good, some shit out there is rank terrible tasting. Oh, and it's not the same as sugar, just as HFCS is not quite the same as sugar.
>>21476304If you actually HAD gone out to touch grass, you would have stumbled across sugar cane, the plant that sugar comes from (it's just powdered and dried - bleached if you like white, natural if you like brown). Some restaurants give you sugar cane sticks to stir alcoholic drinks. No need to visit a plantation.
