Hello all,

Do you ever cook or throw out scraps for your own animals or friendly outdoor animals like cats/dogs/coyote/fox/wolves etc?

What do you cook for them and are they your own pets that you pamper or friendly visitors?

I live rural and have a neighbor that raises and butchers lambs and he always gives me yummy ribs, loin and chops but I like to cut up the trash cuts like the shank into smaller manageable pieces and freeze and put out for my semi-tame friendly fox friends especially in the winter.

I did that once when I had a cat and it was not as excited about it as I was, turns out domesticated animals are not wild animals, who knew?

you can definitely train your pets to eat cooked meat scraps but the main reason to do this is to pat yourself on the back and express your mother instincts because the elites have made having actual kids financial suicide and if you don't want to be living hand to mouth for the rest of your life your best bet is to just get a dog or a cat

And fuck no, it teaches them to keep coming around your property and fuck with your shit. That's how you get bears, deer, raccoons, and other stuff knocking over trash cans, tearing up window screens, and attacking any livestock or pets you have that ever do go outdoors.
I bet if you told your neighbor what you were doing with the scraps he'd call you a fucking idiot and stop giving you things to bait pests and predators to hang around near his livestock.

Personally I wouldn't do that and more people should be shooting the deer. They do nothing good for the environment. They destroy gardens, crops, destroy autos, kill people in car accidents, carry diseases including ticks and lymes disease and they eat all new growth preventing forests from regrowing. Cats eat birds but foxes/wolves and other carnivores just help keep down the population of other terrible pests like rabbits etc. So IMHO I'd never help a deer. I want to attract and keep foxes here though. You do you though.

Heavily heavily culled yeah, but they will just keep coming back so you gotta promote hunting again or do what a local municipality did and hire sharpshooters to track and kill them in areas like suburbs where you can't just let anyone shoot them.

Sorry, I thought I said I lived rural. I think it is manageable though. We don't get raccoons or anyone damaging our property except for woodchuck and I shoot and give them to the foxes as well because they make holes and damage wood around outbuildings. Glorified rats that damage stuff so much more than rats.

I don't really see the same issues where I am but you may be right for where you live.

It's not like the deer are thinking "oh gee I can't wait to spread ticks to humans. I love walking around with ticks all over my body"
They would remove them if they could

Not legal to hunt them here
You sound like a Karen though desu. They shit on the lawn, thats about it. Enough people smack into them with cars the numbers stay pretty low. Jews are a more prevalent issue imo.

I grind raw chicken leg thighs, with gizzards and livers for the cat. Then freeze two day portions in a silicone butter mold
I cook the bones to make it easier on the hand crank
I killed a couple ground hogs this month.
Seriously thinking of switching to cooked ground hog. For the ol boy, or mixing it with the chicken

You're a retard who lives rural and you're still teaching the wild animals in the area to stop being afraid of humans which is bad for everyone, but especially someone that keeps lambs. I know you love being the heckin animal friend but it's not good to do such things and more people should call you dumb for it.

Nothing wrong with supplementing them now and then. I want them around. Not enough to be dependent but I like it I can play with them and they can chill out around me and my property. I hope I am blessed by Inari and might one day get a kitsune gf. I kid, but seriously I like them around. This is when they are young kits and skittish.

And this is one that is adequately fed and doesn't blink when I walk around it. In years past, I've had ones I could roll around with. They always smell and sometimes nip though.

Notice how much better it's coat is?

It's unwise OP, even if you don't suffer the consequences someone else in your area likely will when a fox or other animal attacks a child or livestock. Do not teach wild untrainable animals to stop fearing humans. They'll be around no matter what you do, but teaching them to stop fearing humans will get you or someone else or their livestock hurt.

>>21478415
Yes I'm sure it's very comfortable around humans now, and will be more likely to go to other people that aren't as nice as you, hurt children or livestock, or get shot because you wanted to be Mr fox's heckin playbuddy.

I don't know, I wish there was a hog population here.
in my live trap this morning was a coon, saw a skunk trying to get in the yard last night and there is another small groundhog just outside of the fence.

can anyone help with a quick way to kill these ground hogs.
I'm done wasting my time to relocate not far enough and they come back. and they stink like hell
I was thinking of getting a pistol style cross bow but afraid all the junk from china would just be a waste and I could probably DIY something

Op here. If you can't shoot, get a havaheart trap for like 70 bucks. Make sure it's a double opening not single so they can see through it and they are more likely to go in. Then just shoot or stab or release somewhere else.

Making stock with dark meat like chicken thighs are a good way to get rid of trash cuts if you don't have animals to feed.

this is why I don't try to interact with random animals. You're teaching them that all humans are friendly and one day it's going to walk up to a random guy looking for pets or food and it's going to end up in a liveleak torture video or simply dead with a hole in its head.

if you aren't going to personally house an animal and take care of it for the rest of its life, handling or feeding them is doing harm.

I sometimes give the dogs or the cat the more gristly bits of meat when I cook steak or roasts, although this does mean I have an audience any time I cook lol.
