yeah the premiums are shitty now. I used to eat them by the sleeve but they changed something recently, they don't have that yummy yeasty taste and they're kinda stale. I'm guessing they use cheap sneed oils and they use a chemical rising agent instead of yeast. gotta cut cost on a fucking saltine cracker...

God bless the illegals and their Saladitas brand saltines. I bought a box in deep managers special discount a few years ago, a big motherfucker, too, and we loved them. Seriously, the best saltines I've had in years. Almost as good as the now defunct Philly style oyster cracker. I can't recommend Saladitas enough to a fellow saltine enjoyer.

Those are definitely bigger holes.

I usually buy round crackers like picrel. And I've noticed they tend to break and crumble a lot more now, it's hard to get them out of the sleeve without many of them breaking. I've noticed this across many brands in multiple countries!

nah, they're a bitch to make. You gotta start by making a bread dough. The only difference is oil content. Saltines have quite a bit of fats in them, helps make them flakey and crispy. Once it's all mixed up and smooth, you let it ferment a while to give all that yummy yeasty flavor time to develop. Then you roll the dough, cut it, poke it and then you gotta bake it low and slow until nice and crispy.
