Last night my refrigerator door got knocked ajar by a tub of margarine falling. Do I need to throw out the contents of my refrigerator now? It was not fully open. In my fridge was heavy cream, hotdogs, eggs, and left over cooked hamburger patties.

give everything a sniff test and judge individually, don't just chuck everything indiscriminately. eggs and any vegetables are most likely safe, hot dogs and burgers could go either way, the cream is the highest risk but you never know, it's possible the fridge retained enough cold. just give 'er the ol' sniff.

Also cook anything raw as quickly as possible. We hard boil and pickle eggs that are getting old.

How ajar? If it was just a little open overnight itโ€™s probably all fine.
