>70 cents USD per ounce
>free squeeze bottle you can fill with other oil
>not owned by the Italian mafia or California grower lobby

If you don’t think it’s a good value oil you’re a contrarian or bought into the propaganda spread by the rest of the industry. Go buy it. It’s the best value EVOO since Costco’s Tuscan oil. If you don’t like it just pour that shit out and fill it up with the big ass plastic jug Kirkland EVOO, you saved yourself from buying a $7 OXO squirt bottle.

I'm not going to worry too much about supporting the italian mafia since my own country (USA) is currently being plundered by organized crime lords. This stuff tastes good and that's good enough for me

I use this shit. It's pretty good for what it is. It does annoy me how they have a "sizzle" version for supposed frying. Olive Oil by nature is low smoke point and not meant for hot heat frying.

Greek and Spanish olive in the big multi liter cans is the way to go. There are good producers in both countries. Olive oil from supermarkets doesn't even taste like olive oil.

Not true at all. Smoke point has nothing to do with the oxidative stability of the lipid. There are types of high oleic virgin olive oils that are only for finishing and shouldn't be heated, but there is also absolutely a whole class of virgin olive oils that are great for sauté, or even grilling and searing.

I have no idea why Americans think olive oil can't be used for frying. It's such a bizarre claim and flies in the face of reality. I've got a guy in another thread screeching at me about frying eggs in olive oil after I checked two other cunts for misunderstanding yet another retard who seemed (to them) to claim that olive oil is rare in America when all said retard was saying is that Americans don't know how to use it, which is true.
I mean… if they thought about it for fifteen seconds, they'd realise that since there are ancient deep fried foods from the med and that olive oil was always the dominant cooking oil in the region, logic would dictate that the Caesars were eating shit deep fried in olive oil. And those of us from Southern Italy still eat food fried in olive oil, including eggs.

Right? Well, less the average Roman. The average Roman generally used lard but Greeks from all walks of life were frying in olive oil. Levantines and northern Egyptians did, too, though in what is today the Arab world, the further away you got from Greco-Roman cultural influence, the more likely you were to use animal fats, usually ghee or smen (IE ghee made from fermented butter)

They have a "drizzle" version (as opposed to the "sizzle" version) that's supposed to be for salads.

Hey so I saw this in the shop the other day and while I still have my old EVOL I didn't get it but considered it. Hearing a pretentious asshole on ck brag about it often times does work out well enough for me. I got that Aardvark sauce and it's pretty good and started eating tin fish.

I like the sizzle version better than drizzle both for cooking and as a finishing oil. If it happens to be on sale I'll pick it up, otherwise I don't go out of my way to get it.
It's super retarded that their "refill" bottles cost the same per ounce though.

I used to buy palestinian oil but I always worried I was just making some zionazi settler rich off the blood of innocent people, what's stopping them from just claiming they fair traded it with a palestinian granny they hadn't brutally murdered? So I no longer do.

Isn't it amazing that people managed to fry in olive oil for thousands of years, until some dork waddled up to them and started infodumping about smoke points.

It's also amazing that people managed to use glass bottles for thousands of years--durable, reusable, recyclable- until Big Oil convinced them that a toxic plastic bottle which will eventually get burned in a Chinese landfill was better because it's "squeezy" and has a silly cartoon on the label.

At my store the refill bottles are actually slightly more expensive by volume than the original bottles so I don't understand why you would ever purchase the refill
