Don't you have to have internet to make those work? I only use my telephone. Unless it makes it run more efficient like using that brand new Norweigian compressor that barely uses any energy, why should I care?

yes they are useless
>but it can give you recipes!!!!
i can look up recipes anywhere any time on my phone without needing to stand at my fridge screen
>it can show you whats inside!!!!
i can look inside to see that
>It can tell you when something might expire!!!
you probably need to program it every time you put something in there, and it just sets a timer for x number of days. So you're really making more work for yourself.

The stitches wouldn't be in the middle of the arms and legs like that, they would be over the joints

They're not that smart. I'm 7 - 0 playing it at chess and I don't even know how to play chess.

I got the one where one door is a mirror and if you knock on it you can see whats inside without opening
Its a completely useless feature so I could only imagine a smart fridge.
I did have a fridge from the 80s that had a door for milk and condiments though which was neat.

Recent got one to replace the ancient one that was in this house (it broke). It's a Samsung one with a big tablet on the front, cameras on the inside, and host of smart features.

You'll never use the smart features and the novelty of them wears off in like 3 days. If the fridge can keep your food chilled and has a filtered water dispenser on it, that's really all you need.

More like 2 decades ago, if you buy them now you are a massive mega retard, in the 2000s and 10s you could be atleast be excused as gullible that this is the digital future

Fpbp. On top of that smart appliances often times are built with planned obsolescence so you're getting a product that will die even if you take care of it properly.

IF I could find a side by side fridge with no electronics I would buy it in a heart beat. modern fridges, especially "smart" ones are hot garbage.

I refuse to buy anything with "smart" in the description or title of a product
"Smart" means the product sucks. If you don't know this by now, I don't know how to help you

Correct.

Based replies in this thread.
I was expecting a bunch of consoomer NPCs.

Yes, IoT sucks due to planned obsolence and little actual usefulness just the novelty factor. You are better off getting a good quality "dumb" fridge built to last. Mine is no frost, has a water/ice dispenser, and a touchpad to regulate the temperature precisely, literally all you need.

Let's see a show of posts. How many people in the anti-smart fridge thread also don't own smart phones?
Anyone besides me?

I LOVE my smart appliances. They have made my life SO much easier.

I never find myself short on necessities like milk anymore. Why? Because my fridge automatically orders more for me. It detects when there is no milk in my fridge and orders more directly from Amazon well before I even run out. Amazonazing!

Not only that but integrated AI functionalities allow me to simply ask my fridge what is inside without even opening it! Saving me time, energy, and avoiding mistakes.

That's just the fridge too. All of my appliances are smart. I just wish I had smart cupboards too!
