noodles are cheap quality, but the real thing to pay attention to is the flavor packets. they're mostly a shit ton of sodium and other junk. a small amount is usually fine. personally, i toss it and make my own broth from my spice cabinet and sometimes a concentrate broth

when i used to use the packets, i would dash a bit in to cook the noodles, then after they were done, i would strain them and put a bit more of the flavoring directly onto the drained noodles, then toss them into a hot pan to quickly stir fry. highly recommend. not healthy, but i mean you're eating fucking ramen

I drain the water then add a tablespoon of crisco, with a dash of kosher salt, monosodium glutamate, and splenda
I believe it is the splenda that helps release the more floral notes of the crisco

The noodles are already fried and filled with fat. I get sesame oil or even butter, but Crisco is for baking and making hardcore artery-clogging fried chicken. You don't put globs of it into things for flavor. It's vegetable shortening FFS. Flavorless.

Read more closely. All you eat in the entire day is three packs. That's under 1,200 calories. Everyone will lose weight if they only eat 1,200 calories.
It wouldn't be healthy without vitamins. It's a dumb way to get calories but it's cheap. I'd have trouble getting by on that. I'd want to eat three at a time with lots of stuff in it. I'd probably wolf my one pack down every meal and absolutely hate the diet. But again, the point was to assign this to one of the people who come here and post how they don't like food and it's just fuel and a waste of time and money. The Soylent people. Anyone else it would be like torture to subject them to nothing but ramen for a month. It's like the culinary version of solitary confinement. It will break a normal man. But not one of those fuel freaks. They'd probably enjoy the cheap month and not having to spend their precious time planning or making (3 minutes) tedious meals like everyone else.

They eat so much of it. That's why they're fat. People who eat empty fatty carbs eat a lot of it; entire bags of chips, entire sleeves of crackers/cookies in one sitting. Finishing the pizza. 3 pieces of pie. That's why the majority of Westerners are now overweight; that's what we eat. It's 'cheap' and abundant. If you're a fucking retard. The portions are just already too much. A footlong sub and a bag of chips and a sugar soda, or a cheeseburger and fries and a sweet coffee drink is probably a day's worth of calories. And a lot of people will have something comparable to that as a meal on a regular basis. I know people who leave the office every day and get a big fast food lunch. No matter where it's from it's a fuckton of food. You can't eat like that and sit around and then go home and play videogames and eat like that again with a few beers and be slim. That's why only 1/3 of us are slim now.

For starters, many of them cheat whatever nutrition facts requirements exist by saying that the contents one packet is "two servings" which is ludicrous, so double the percentages. On that specific brand and flavour you get 1 packet being:
>66% of your daily rec salt intake.
>32% of your daily rec fat intake
>20% of your daily rec carb intake

Its not purely about calories in vs out. You have to account for the metabolical impacts certain foods have, especially processed foods like ramen noodles that will spike insulin and result in your body storing more energy as fat.

Irrelevant, eating more than 100% of rec fat isn't going to immediately turn you fat.

Hard to say if people are getting fat off it, but I'd imagine frequent consumers will probably have higher blood pressure from all the salt.
When I was younger I used to dump only half of the packet in. Now I'd do the whole thing cause I'd only eat this on a rare af occasion.

Ill eat 2 at a time but I only use half or one packet of seasoning. If I want more seasoning Ill add a little black pepper/crushed red pepper and paprika. Then have some veggies on the side.
If I only eat one its because Ill make it as a carb side for something like if Im out of potatos and made pork chops or whatever.
I cant say Ive lived off ramen though, never eaten it like every day but it really doesnt have much nutritional value at all, its just salt and filler. My guess is anyone getting "fat" from these is just them retaining water from all the sodium.
