Most countries apart from the USA have strict hygiene regulations when it comes to growing their chickens, so the risk is very minimal.

they are angels and they don't sell eggs from diseased chickens

they also have self-serve egg dispensers that local farmers fill with eggs and people pay based on the honor system. no one steals because they are better people

They've practically eradicated salmonella in Japanese domestic poultry. The few cases per year are almost always from imported beef and dairy.

a lot of good stuff ITT about eggs being washed and whatever, but what people are missing is that the inside of an egg is more-or-less hermetically sealed.
when you get salmonella from undercooked eggs, it's from the edible part of the egg contacting the dirty outside of the shell

Worse, it's only ~$0.03 to $0.10 per chick. So the average is closer to around 5 cents per chick.

Nothing. We wash our eggs and they are safe to consume raw but have to stay in the fridge.
Salmonella is carried on the outside of the shell and is the source of most poisonings from eggs.
I could go crack 5 eggs in a glass and drink it right now no problem.

if you convince the egg that the heat of the rice will cook it, the egg will kill the salmonella bacteria for you.

>>21482625
this anon is correct for US eggs; First an egg has to be contaminated (about 1 in 10,000), then it has to stay at room temp for several hours. As long as eggs are stored in the fridge there really shouldn't be huge risk at all. As an example, one would be way more likely to get sick from eating raw cookie dough.
