Where do you usually go for good recipes? Googling one just gives me SEO garbage that isn't very good or authentic

There's an app called ChefGPT https://www.chefgpt.xyz/ where you can give it ingredients and it'll spit out a recipe, maybe it'll work better than regular chatGPT

usually look at three or four recipes and figure out what they have in common.

Yummly >>21482894 is probably one of the better ones, since the SEO padding is cut to a minimum and the search functions work nicely
Though I found that over time as you build a repertoire of dishes and hone your cooking intuition, recipes become unnecessary. These days if Iโ€™m searching for something specific Iโ€™ll just peek at the ingredients list and intuit the rest.
Recipes are for women tbqh fampai. You donโ€™t need to read about how to reduce a wine sauce 50 times over.

Old cookbooks. OLD. Definitely before internet existed, ideally before television.
Internet recipes I only look at for some inspiration or to check spice pairings

Ironically one of my favorite cookbooks is from a tiktoker lel (which I found out afterwards because I don't have that shit).
But yeah it takes a hell of a lot of research to get a decent cookbook selection, the variation in quality in cookbooks is particularly gigantic

Forget ((Google)) AI blogpost trash and get recommendations for old-school self-contained forum/database sites. Maybe someone can suggest an English site similar to this option, zero bullshit, zero ads:

https://www.russianfood.com/

>Stock up on all the paper books you can because we're in for 1000 years of darkness
I might have disagreed until trying to explain to zoomers why Web search was better before they were born.

Just a good starting point, but you still have to use a little common sense when determining if it looks like a good decent recipe:

>Serious Eats (Author dependent, besides Kenji, if it's a minority name, probably skip it)
>NYT Cooking (Usually pretty safe to go off their rating system)
>Bon Appetit (high highs, and low lows, rating system doesn't really help)
>Woks of Life (for mostly Chinese, but the rest of the Asian stuff can be hit or miss because it's Chinafied)

Physical cookbooks mostly, especially those recommended by or used in culinary schools. I'll also sometimes find a seoslop site that actually has good stuff in some kind of niche. JustOne Cookbooks website is pretty solid for cooking Japanese stuff with Western substitution options, for example. Some good things on based cooking, but it's pretty dead. Otherwise stuff like hello fresh recipes which are free on their site.
